For the third consecutive year,
a one-year REU site was established at UCF with the same
co-investigators and cooperating institutions
(USF, UCF and Stetson) as the 1990-1991 site.
Ten students from the three Universities participated in this project. There were a total of one minority and four females among the participants. The project started in June 1991 with an intensive short course in Computer Vision. By the end of the summer, each participant, under the guidance of their respective faculty advisor, started working on their individual project. The students continued working on their projects throughout the academic year. The whole group of students were taken to the Applications of AI Conference held in April.
Five students had papers accepted at conferences, including one each at the International Conference on Pattern Recognition and the National Conference on Undergraduate Research.
