  • Kevin Tang - Cornell University - Kevin worked on learning how to recognize novel objects from only a single example.
  • Sean McMillan - The University of Notre Dame - Sean worked on the TRECVID video retrieval competition team. He focused on choosing good features for classifying video frames and algorithms for choosing informative frames from the video.
  • Lance Hartung - The University of Wisconsin,Madison - Lance worked on models for identifying common movement patterns in video.
  • Phillip Napieralski - Bemidji State University - Phillip worked on algorithms for camera-based interactive devices.
  • Jon Harter - Eastern Illinois University - Jon also worked on the camera-based device.
  • Benjamin Mears - Amherst College - Ben also worked on the TRECVID team, focusing on the classification system, motion, and weighting of features.
  • Jacqueline Nelson - University of Central Florida - Jacqueline worked on the vision system for an autonomous underwater robot.
  • Joel Jurik - University of Central Florida - Joel worked on making image recognition systems more efficient.
  • Silvino Barreiros - University of Central Florida - Silvino worked on the TRECVID team too. His focus was on techniques for making use of limited amounts of training data.
